Foul weather does not hinder studying!

In a freezing cold November morning Kaltinėnai A. Stulginskis Gymnasium IIga grade students: Greta Šadbaraitė, Rokas Baltrušis, Vesta – Monika Zubrickaitė and Austėja Dambrauskaitė, with history teacher L. Baltutienė went to the first ERASMUS+ “Y.E.S. – G.R.E.E.N. ” visit, which is funded by the Erasmus+ Lifelong Learning Program. The purpose of the project is to educate future generations of the EU to become environmentally friendly. The first TLTA meeting has been organised by Estonia partners in Narva city where participated students from Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Italy and Czech Republic met. The meeting activities began with greetings from the headmaster of Narva Soldino Gymnasium, followed by students ice-breaking games, and Estonians performing their folk dances and songs. After official opening, we participated in the conference where students read reports on sorting and recycling in their countries and introduced successful companies in their homelands. Also, teachers provided CLIL lessons where we discussed the importance of nature and ecological issues in international groups. We created fairytales on ecology topic that demanded our creativity. We attended classes in the gymnasium where we could observe the education in this institution. We had the opportunity to see the Baltic Sea from a cold town Narva-Jõesuu. While visiting Herman Castle, we learned about the history of Narva. We took a stroll around the beautiful Old Town of Tallinn. The whole week of our stay was accompanied by cold and cozy outdoors, but the activities organized by the hosts left a long lasting warm impression. We hope that the activities started during the meeting will be developed successfully, and that the friendly relations established within the week workshops and activities will continue in the future!
